Induction Melting: Cost-effective and Efficient
Induction melting is an effective and energy-efficient way to increase the temperature of metal or ore to its melting point. This process can be used to perform metallurgical processes like smelting, alloying, mixing and casting.
In induction furnaces, a coil that carries an alternating electric current surrounds the container which has metal in it. This process is known as eddy currents, and it creates charge in the metal which ultimately leads to high temperatures. This process can be used for melting metals and creating various alloys. Moreover, it is one of the first steps in producing a useful product.
Induction melting is quite fast and effective. Depending on the changes in geometry and size of induction coils, it is possible to melt a vast range of items, from common coffee mugs to tons of molten metal. Further, by making modifications in frequency and power, we can process all kinds of materials and metals like iron, steel, stainless steel alloys, copper, aluminum, and silicon. We customize our induction equipment for every application, ensuring maximum efficiency.
VS resistance heated furnace:
Compared with other types of furnaces, the resistance-heated furnace has the advantages of high heat efficiency and fast melting speed, as well as small size which can save energy by up to 30%. However, resistance or silicon carbide stocks are easy to be damaged.
VS Coal , Gas ,diesel furnace:
Coal and gas furnaces are easy to adjust solution composition and temperature, and consequently reducing the bubbling of the foundry by 1/3 to 1/4, and the reject rate by 1/2 to 2/3, so the cast has higher mechanical strength. It also reduces burning oxidation. Induction melting can melt scrap and small pieces with its electromagnetic stirring effect, reducing the cost of materials while offering environmental protection. Noise is much lower than towering equipment, thus improving the labor intensity of workers and working conditions. However, the Cast-iron crucible used in Coal and gas furnaces is harmful to the aluminum alloy by increasing impurity. Graphite crucible used in induction melting without such disadvantages.
VS SCR or Frequency Melting Furnace:
Similarly, SCR or frequency melting furnaces also have the advantages of high heat efficiency and fast melting speed. Besides, it has a small size which can save energy above 20%. The electromagnetic stirring effect of this type of furnace is slight so the service life of the crucible is extended. By adjusting the frequency to achieve power regulation, the melting speed increases; material elements burning loss decreases and better energy saving is obtained, particularly for heating of stainless steel, copper, silicon, aluminum, and other non-magnetic materials, thereby reducing the cost of the casting.
Such as equipment 70KW melting aluminum, cost of melting IT:
The resistance melting furnace needs 70%; the frequency melting furnace needs 70%; the diesel melting furnace needs 60%; the SCR melting furnace needs 80%.
