Induction melting is a cost-effective and energy-efficient way to raise the temperature of a metal or ore to its melting point and to hold that temperature to perform metallurgical processes such as smelting, alloying, mixing, and casting.
In an induction furnace, a coil carrying alternating electric current surrounds the container or chamber with the metal. As the electric current is fed through the coil, eddy currents are generated in the metal, allowing the circulation of highly intense currents that would eventually heat up the metal and bring it to its melting point.
Induction melting furnaces are a popular choice for many processes since they offer a fast and efficient way of melting metals. They can hold sizes ranging from the volume of a coffee cup to even hundreds of tons of molten metal. Further, their ability to adjust frequency and power allows them to process almost any metal and material, including but not limited to iron, steel and stainless steel alloys, copper and copper-based alloys, aluminum, and silicon.
At our company, induction equipment is custom-designed for each application to make sure it is as efficient and cost-effective as possible.
High heat efficiency and fast melting speed are the advantages of a resistance-heated furnace. It is small in size and saves energy up to 30%. But it is easy to damage the resistance or silicon carbide stock.
VS Coal, Gas , diesel furnace:
By using a coal or gas diesel furnace, it is very easy for the adjustment of solution composition and temperature. The bubble of foundry can be reduced by 1/3 to 1/4 and the reject rate goes down from 1/2 to 2/3, leading to a higher mechanical strength of the cast. Moreover, the oxidation of burning is reduced and environmental pollution is prevented. The noise is far lower than towering equipment. In addition, workers' labor intensity and working conditions are improved. One drawback of coal and gas furnaces is that the cast-iron crucible used is harmful to the aluminum alloy by increasing impurity, while the graphite crucible used in induction melts without such disadvantages.
VS SCR or Frequency Melting Furnace:
High heat efficiency and fast melting speed are also the benefits of SCR or Frequency Melting Furnace. Its small size will save you more energy, around 20%. Plus, the electromagnetic stirring effect is slight, which can extend the service life of the crucible. By adjusting the frequency to achieve power regulation, the melting speed is fast, and material elements burning loss are reduced as a result of better energy saving. Especially when heating stainless steel, copper, silicon, aluminum, and other non-magnetic materials, the cost of the casting can be reduced.
Such as equipment 70KW melting aluminum, cost of melting IT:70% of resistance melting furnace;
70% of frequency melting furnace;
60% of diesel melting furnace;
80% of SCR melting furnace.
