Induction melting, also known as induction furnace casting, is the process of melting metal into liquid form inside an induction furnace. This is achieved by taking advantage of the principles of electromagnetic induction heating, where an induction heating device is used to create a magnetic field, and current is passed through a container to heat the material within.
The major benefits of this process are the high-quality liquid produced, and the safety and time-saving factor. In comparison to traditional furnace heating, induction melting is much quicker and safer, since the automated induction melting line eliminates the risks of manual operation. Additionally, it produces a cleaner and more efficient melt, reducing the presence of any impurities in the finished product.
Induction melting is widely used in the industrial field, accommodating various types of metals such as steel, iron, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and non-ferrous metals. Moreover, our well-adapted solutions have the capacity to melt up to 50 tons in a single furnace.
The Medium Frequency Induction Melting Machine features a solid state IGBT Frequency Conversion Control technology, providing various protections such as over-current, water deficiency, over-heating, over-voltage, short-circuit, and phase failure. This raises the level of safety and reliability. It also comes with a display function of current, voltage, and timing to let operators accurately monitor the working condition
Its size is small and its weight is light, occupying no more than Isqm, and portability is available. It operates 24 hours nonstop and requires low power consumption, it also has electromagnetic grinding capability which guarantees even temperature in the fused metal. Generally, melting time is 30-50 minutes for one furnace, heating time to full cooling is 40-50 minutes, and heating time to hot-start is 20-30 minutes.
The major advantages of this machine include environmental protection and uniform melting, intelligent control and comprehensive protection, energy saving and efficiency, quick and easy installation and operation, precise digital control ensuring IGBT zero-crossing switch, and instant and safe use.
This type of furnace has a high heat efficiency and fast melting process. Additionally, due to its small size aspect, it can save up to 30% of energy. The downside of this type of furnace is that the resistance or silicon carbide stock is prone to failure.
This type of furnace is optimal for adjusting the solution composition and temperature of the foundry, reducing the amount of bubbling by 1/3 to 1/4 and the reject rate by 1/2 to 2/3. This improvement in the mechanical strength of the cast prevents the oxidation of burning and reduces environmental pollution. Additionally, due to the electromagnetic stirring effect, this type of furnace can handle scrap processing and small pieces, which reduces the cost of materials. Furthermore, by using graphite crucible to replace cast-iron crucible, the contamination of aluminum alloy can be prevented.
Similar to the resistance heated furnace, the SCR or frequency melting furnace has high heat efficiency and small size, enabling it to save energy above 20%. In addition, the electromagnetic stirring effect is slight, therefore increasing the lifecycle of the crucible itself. By adjusting the frequency, the power and melting speed can be regulated, resulting in less burning loss of the material elements and better energy saving. Furthermore, it is suitable for heating of non-magnetic materials such as stainless steel, copper, silicon, and aluminum, thus reducing the cost of the casting.
The cost for melting Aluminum with the 70KW equipment would be 70% for a resistance melting furnace, 70% for a frequency melting furnace, 60% for a diesel melting furnace, and 80% for a SCR melting furnace.
